প্রভাত সঙ্গীতের গীতিকার ও সুরকার শ্রীপ্রভাতরঞ্জন সরকার (২১ মে ১৯২১ – ২১ অক্টোবর ১৯৯০)

ধর্মগুরু, দার্শনিক, সমাজ সংস্কারক, লেখক ও আনন্দমার্গ প্রচারক সংঘের  প্রতিষ্ঠাতা শ্রীপ্রভাতরঞ্জন সরকার (শ্রীশ্রীআনন্দমূর্ত্তি) কর্তৃক রচিত ও সুুরারোপিত গানগুলো প্রভাত সঙ্গীত নামে পরিচিত। তিনি ১৯৮২ সালের ১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে তাঁর মহাপ্রয়াণের ১ দিন পূর্ব তথা ১৯৯০ সালের   ২০ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত ৮ বছরের মধ্যে ৮-টি ভাষায় সুরসহ ৫০১৮-টি গান রচনা করেছিলেন। এই গানগুলোর মধ্যে  বেশিরভাগ বাংলা ভাষায় এবং কিছু সংখ্যক গান সংস্কৃত, হিন্দি, ইংরেজি, মৈথিলী, উর্দু, মগাহি এবং অঙ্গিকা ভাষায় লেখা হয়েছে। প্রভাত সঙ্গীতকে একটি স্বতন্ত্র  ঘরানার গান বলে মনে করা হয়। এই গানগুলো  প্রেম, রহস্যবাদ, ভক্তি, নব্যমানবতাবাদ, দেশপ্রেম,  বিপ্লব, বিশ্বৈকতাবাদ, বিভিন্ন সামাজিক অনুষ্ঠান ইত্যাদি বিষয়কে কেন্দ্র করে রচিত হয়েছে।

প্রতি বছর ১৪-ই সেপ্টেম্বর বিশ্বজুড়ে সর্বত্র প্রভাত সঙ্গীত দিবস যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদার সঙ্গে  পালিত হয়।

About Prabhat Samgiita in English

The songs written and composed by Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (Shrii Shrii Anandamurti), a spiritual Guru, philosopher, social reformer and founder of the Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, are known as Prabhat Samgiita. He wrote 5018 songs with melodies in 8 languages in 8 years from 14 September 1982 to 20 October 1990, a day before his death. Most of these songs have been written in Bengali language and some in Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Maithili, Urdu, Magahi and Angika. Prabhat Samgiita is considered to be a song of a distinct genre. These songs have been written around the topics of love, mysticism, devotion,  neohumanism, patriotism, revolution, universalism, various social events, etc.

Every year on September 14, the Prabhat Samgiita Divas is celebrated with due respect  all over the world.

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (প্রভাতরঞ্জন সরকার)

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar  (21 May 1921 – 21 October 1990), also known by his spiritual name,  Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti  (Ánanda Múrti="Bliss Embodiment"), and known as  Bábá  ("Father") to his disciples, was a Spiritual Guru ( Taraka Brahma ), Neohumanist, universalist,  philosopher , yogi, author, social revolutionary, poet, song composer, linguist, educationist, economist, politician, polyglot, scientist, agronomist, archaeologist, historian, ornithologist, anthropologist, intellectual, ayurveda-researcher, environmentalist, vegetarian and what not.
